Smoky Ravenclaw

I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of Harry Potter. I wouldn't consider myself a fanatic, but I certainly have an appreciation for the series. I went to the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2, and had a blast. I was lucky enough to get tickets to the double feature, so I got to watch nearly 5 hours of Harry Potter goodness that night, starting with the Deathly Hollows Part 1.

For my eye makeup, I used the Wet n Wild 8-pan palette in Blue Had Me At Hello. I wanted to do a blue-infused smoky eye in honor of my favorite house, Ravenclaw. I used the browbone and eyelid colors from the left side of the palette and the crease color from the right side of the palette. I also used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Maybelline One By One Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara.

I also went with a Ravenclaw manicure, using Wet n Wild's Fastdry Nail Color in Saved by the Blue and The Gold and the Beautiful.

I layered the gold shade over the blue on my ring fingers, and ended up looking quite green in photos. In real life, it looked much less green.

I also decided to get my craft on the afternoon leading up to the premiere, making a pygmy puff friend to join me at the movie, a deathly hollows necklace, and shirts for my sister and myself.

The back of my sister's shirt- a glittery snitch!

And mine:

It's a bit hard to tell from this picture, but the front of my shirt has a lightning bolt created by putting bleach on the shirt.

I think I'm going to put my dvd of HP 6 on as I keep working on posts and avoid packing. Yep, I'm moving AGAIN. Sometimes I think I should only allow myself to own what will fit in two checked bags and a carry-on and never unpack.

I still haven't got into the HP hype. I did borrow the first movie from one of my coworkers on Monday. I watched about an hour of it before losing interest. Maybe I'll give it a try again some day...

Love the look you did with the WnW palette! And what fun shirts you guys made! Sounds like you had a good time! And good luck moving. I moved around a lot in my early 20's, I know the feeling.

I'm not a real fan of HP but I do watch them whenever they are being shown on the tv :P Love your make up for the premiere. Absolutely stunning.

Btw, I tagged you for a couple of blog awards so you might wanna check out my latest blog entry :)

Peach: I got into the hype when the books came out- I would buy them as soon as a new one came out and then would hide in my room and read non-stop until I finished each new book. I've always been an avid reader, and the HP books hooked me. And thanks! I did have a great time. Thanks for the wishes of luck, I'm getting pretty darn sick of moving, I'm glad to hear someone can relate.

mNg: Thanks! *bounces over to your blog*

Very pretty eye look, I like that you channeled the Ravenclaw colours without being like BAM! BLUE AND SILVER (or bronze). :) your Pygmy Puff is too cute!
