What a relief.
And because I always have something up my sleeve...
I'm opening a shop on Etsy to sell the pendants I've been making. The shop will open 10 AM Pacific Time tomorrow, Friday April 27.
I keep forgetting to post about it here, but I'm finally getting around to it!

The box included tea, chocolate, sweetener, a razor, and nail art.

The chocolate, a Ghirardelli milk chocolate bar, was delicious. So creamy and wonderful, I want to go buy another one just thinking about it (not that it's hard to get me to want chocolate).
I'm a bit of a tea junkie, and have been enjoying the Stash tea sampler. My tea cabinet has a few boxes of Stash tea in it already, and I was happy to add another box to the mix, especially since it has several flavors I hadn't tried from Stash before. I especially like the acai berry tea.
I haven't tried the Truvia sweetener because most sugar substitutes do not agree with my body and make me quite ill. I plan to pass it along to someone who will actually use it.

And now for the razor.

Check out the massive moisture bars. It came with a handy holder with a suction cup, which keeps the razor safely in place on my shower wall.

The packaging claims that shaving gel is unnecessary with this razor, due to the moisture bars. With my sensitive skin, I was skeptical. And a little scared at the prospect of shaving without shave gel. But I gave it a shot anyway.
I was pleasantly surprised! Usually shaving my underarms is slightly painful, but I didn't notice any pain with this razor- just the nice, smooth shave I've been longing for. I noticed less razor burn than usual afterward. I'm actually quite shocked that this worked so well for me.
This retails for around $8.99-$10.99

The Kiss Nail Dress was my first experience with a press-on nail strip. I've been curious about them for a while, so I was happy to see this in my box.

I was glad that it came with a file, so then I didn't have to search for mine! All I had to do was open the box and apply. The pattern seemed like it would work best as an accent, so I tried it with a silver Finger Paints polish.

The packaging claims that it will last up to 10 days. Within about a day, I noticed some peeling. However, I have a bad habit of messing with my nails if there's something textured on them, so I'm sure that contributed. They're pretty easy to use and I liked them overall, though I never did get used to the feeling of having the strip on my nail. I can see myself using these in the future for special occasions, but probably not everyday. Many of the sizes are far too big for my nails, so I'll need to trim them to be narrower before using them.
They retail for around $6.99

And that's the Love VoxBox! Anything catch your eye?
I've tried it all- laser hair removal, shaving, waxing, tweezing, depilatories, and epilation.
I did the laser about 5 or 6 years ago, and it was pretty much a complete fail. I had it done to my armpits, and despite the dermatologist and the aesthetician telling me I had the ideal armpit hair for laser removal, it was fairly ineffective. Many, decently painful sessions later, I had slightly less hair, but it was far from gone and returned to its full glory within after my final session. Not trying that one again.
Depilatories- I can't get past the smell of chemicals and burning hair.
And waxing...oh, waxing. You'd think I would have learned my lesson the first 10 or so times I found myself standing in the bathroom, covered in sticky wax and trying to give myself a pep talk to rip the wax off my body. I keep thinking that a different kit or something will make a difference, but I've tried several microwave kits, the kits with the wax already on the strips (the ones not requiring heat took off more skin than hair), and wax warmers. I never regretted the waxes from salons, however.
Shaving and tweezing are the old standbys, nothing thrilling or innovative but they work. Mostly.
And finally epilation, my favorite option for my legs. I have pretty bad keratosis pilaris on my legs, but it's finally improving through epilating rather than shaving, and lots and lots of AmLactin lotion. Shaving irritates my skin to no end. I bought my first epilator nearly four years ago, and I'm a big fan. So when I was offered the opportunity to review the new Philips SatinPerfect Deluxe epilator, I was more than willing to give it a shot.
The epilator I've been using until now was pretty simple. No fancy attachments, just a basic epilator. So I was intrigued by all the different attachments for this one. It comes with a basic epilation cap, a "shave, trim, and style attachment", a trimming comb, an "optimal performance cap", and a cap that has "active hairlifter with active massage". It also comes with some nifty tweezers.

The tweezers come in a little tube that has a small mirror, and the tweezers themselves have a light built in.

So, epilating with this.
I first tried it with the basic epilation cap. I was happy with the results, but was curious about how the other attachments would work. I epilate my legs frequently enough that I hardly notice the pain, but I do still notice it when I'm epilating around my ankles. Cue the optimal performance cap. I'm always a bit of a skeptic, so I had my doubts about how much of a difference the attachment would make. However, I did notice less pain around my ankles when I used it. I also tried the attachment with the active hairlifter and active massage, which also diminished the pain a bit. I found that the fancy attachments required that I use a little more pressure and a few more passes over the area than the basic cap. So, when I'm in more of a hurry, I reach for the basic cap. But I also like the optimal performance cap and prefer it for the ankle area. It would probably also be good for those new to epilation.
One feature I really like about this epilator is the "opti-light". It's a light built into the epilator and makes it easy to see the hairs on your legs (or wherever else, but I generally only use epilation on my legs), and helps you avoid that moment where you're out and about an notice a stripe of hair that you managed to miss while shaving or epilating. I'm a fan. Nice work, Philips.

I had never used an electric razor before, so that was new to me. Please note, this device is NOT for use in the shower. Keep it away from water. I know that some electric razors are waterproof, but this device is not. I like the razor and the trimming comb, they're great for the bikini area. My skin does not do well with shaving in the bikini area with a standard razor- way too much irritation. But the electric razor didn't irritate my skin. Yay!

I'm very happy with this product. I can't think of anything that I dislike, other than that the long instructions seem a bit daunting. But maybe that's just because I'm impatient when it comes to reading instructions.

The Philips HP6576/50 Satin Perfect Deluxe Epilator is a winner in my book. It retails for about $150, though right now on Amazon it's listed at $129.97. The Amazon listing also has a chart comparing Philips' different epilators here. There's a Satin Perfect Epilator that just comes with the basic epilation cap here, which is on Amazon for $84.99. It doesn't come with any of the extra attachments, but it does have the built in light!

I definitely recommend the Satin Perfect. I love how smooth it leaves my skin, and it's so nice to not have stubble appear after a few days. Smooth legs for longer is always good.

Have you ever tried epilating?
Do you think you'll give this one a shot?
I really like how green my eyes look with this shadow! I decided to a purple liner along the top lash line so that it wouldn't be entirely green.
I also transferred some of my potted Brazen lipglosses into some empty tubes I had sitting around. I haven't been using the potted glosses recently because tubes are so much more convenient, but these are such great glosses that I wanted to change that! (Note: Brazen does offer their glosses in tubes now, though they didn't when I purchased these)

A syringe is the fastest way to tube them, in my experience, but I hate how difficult it is to clean gloss out of the syringe between colors. Lola and Peep show were tubed using a syringe, while the others were tubed by slowly transferring the gloss with a cocktail stirrer because I was tired of washing the syringe. The formula is difficult to suck up using the syringe, so I used a cocktail stirrer to scoop the gloss into the body/chamber of the syringe and then pushed the stopper (or whatever it's called) in.
Although I have many pages of thesis to write this weekend, I'm pretty relieved to see the weekend arrive. It's been a great, but busy week. I got my cap and gown for graduation...crazy! I checked off a major item on my to do list- my senior recital. I had a blast performing, but it's nice to not have to worry about it any more.

My recital included some American Sign Language to tie in with my thesis work. Now I just need to finish writing the actual thesis.

I took a trip to H&M, and they had toucan accessories! It was difficult for me to contain my excitement, and I ended up with some hair pins and a necklace. I can't believe I didn't have any toucan hair accessories before!

H&M had the hair pins in two styles/colors, and I picked up both of them since I couldn't decide on just one ;)

The necklace appeared to only come in the color design, so I'm glad I didn't have to make a decision there. It's quite large, but I think it'll look great with a basic top.
After a few hours of frustration, I gave up and turned to my arsenal of glitter.
Here's what happened:

I am THRILLED with how it turned out.

As always, I applied my trusty Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
I created an outline of the winged design with the black gel eyeliner from the Physicians Formula Brown Eyes eyeliner trio.
Then, I grabbed three of my eyeshadows from Brazen Cosmetics: Karma (purple), Beach Babe (blue), and Cirque (teal). I first applied them dry, but then decided to add a little more oomph by applying them with a damp brush.
Next was the glitter, Reverberation from Aromaleigh. I mixed it with some Sally Girl Gel Adhesive for Glitter, then applied it to the wings and the outer third of my eyelid.
I used the Maybelline Lots of Lashes mascara, and decided to top it all off by putting Karma in my brows.

Really. Just extraordinarily busy.
But I figured I'd pop in to share some quick swatches, because this fun little platte is on sale right now in the Too Faced vintage sale.
The Glamour To Go- Dream Edition is on sale for $15 here.

Photos taken under daylight bulb.

I was initially disappointed when I swatched these without primer. The pigmentation is definitely lacking without the help of a primer.

But then I used some Too Faced Shadow Insurance and... magic!

The first two shades were more or less invisible without primer, but with TFSI they're actually quite pretty.

And though the purple isn't as smooth as I'd like it to be, it's certainly pretty.
First off, I'm sorry for being so absent the past week or so, it's certainly busy in the world of toucan right now. I'm finishing up my first bachelor's degree, and getting things lined up to start my second degree. I have a chapter of my thesis due tomorrow and a pre-recital performance for the music faculty tomorrow. In the latter portion of the week, I'll be jet-setting across the country for a few days.

Now to the makeup.

Last Thursday night, I went to the city with some friends to a funky, vintage inspired restaurant/lounge. I actually remembered to take some face photos to share!

Photos with flash, and wow- that flash really washed me out. I swear I was wearing blush...

I definitely like the way this look turned out. My outfit for the night had a lot of character, so I wanted to keep the makeup fairly simple. I'm thinking of trying this look again but adding a darker, more defined crease.

How's your Monday going?Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02739507155428208798noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802239278941193125.post-75686875301297467872012-02-02T12:59:00.000-07:002012-02-02T12:59:27.658-07:00Too Faced Sale, Ends 2/2 at Midnight PSTYou all know that I'm a big fan of Too Faced. They make my go-to primer and I'm loving their smokey eye palette. You probably don't know that I'm also a big fan of Punxutawney Phil, the magical groundhog of Groundhog Day.

This winter seems like it has been fairly mild out here, so I'm okay with six more weeks of it. And Phil's a cutie.

Where am I going with this?

Too Faced is having a sale today. They decided that if the Too Faced mascot, London, saw his shadow this morning, that orders placed today before midnight PST would include a free shadow in Magic Mushroom. If he did not see his shadow, a 25% discount would be applied.
And apparently, London did not see his shadow this morning (unlike Phil) so you can get 25% off your order with the code LONDONSHADOW

Happy Groundhog Day!Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02739507155428208798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802239278941193125.post-59044251980754600772012-01-29T16:55:00.000-07:002012-01-29T16:55:25.812-07:00Sunday thoughtsWord on the street is that EcoTools are on sale at Rite Aid- buy one get one free. I won't be taking advantage of this deal because I really don't need any more brushes. But EcoTools are by far my favorite brushes.
I already had Zero and while I liked the smooth, long-wearing formula, it just wasn't the deep black I was looking for. Enter Perversion, stage left.
It was love at first swipe, but Perversion was tied to another. Or rather, many others. Perversion was first released in the 15th Anniversary 24/7 Eyeliner Set, which comprised 15 eyeliners and sharpener for $92. I know that people love these eyeliners, but spending $92 at once on eyeliners? Not for me. So, I waved Perversion away. Fast forward about a year, and Perversion and I meet once again. This time, Perversion's crowd of cohorts that kept me away last time have shrunken significantly, as has Perversion. A lively group of five travel sized liners (one of which being Perversion) were released in the form of the Electric 24/7 Travel Set of 5 ($32). Perversion flirted with me once more, and I thought about it. At the end of the day, I decided all those extra friends that would come along with Perversion weren't what I was looking for.
A few months later, I learned through facebook that Perversion would be on the prowl soon, in full size and independent! Finally!
A word of warning: Perversion commits. Perversion is clingy and a challenge to get off your face at the end of the day.

On to the pictures, all under a daylight bulb.
Comparing blacks makes me think of the scene in Legally Blonde where Elle asks Warner what kind of shoes she's wearing and his response is, "Uhhhh...black ones?"

I'm glad to have Perversion joining my arsenal, and it can be found at urbandecay.com for $18. I definitely suggest keeping it in mind next time you're looking for a black eyeliner.
It's already proven to be an interesting one. I didn't sleep well last night, so I'm a bit out of it.
I've been doing more sparkle science, so expect to see more posts on my random experiments. I will finally swatch Perversion next to Zero for you today, so that's coming up as well. I'm also planning on doing a project 10 pan, though I want to see if there are any limited edition Valentine's things I need in my life first...I'm working on gathering up products that I need to use up. Regardless, I have definitely banned myself from purchasing any more lotion, body soap, body wash, body spray, or perfume until I make a significant dent in my stash. My stash of body products doesn't hold a candle to what I've witnessed in many teenage girls' bathrooms, but I should probably start focusing on using one lotion consistently until I use it up, instead of having so many partially finished ones all over the place. I've been gathering up things for my blog sale, which should be up next week. I just have too many products that I am not using/haven't used, and hopefully they can find their way to people who will enjoy them!

Now time for swatching, food, and preparing a presentation. There are definitely a few signs I need to look up before I give my presentation, as I find that sometimes my ASL vocabulary is a bit more limited than I'd like. And on that note, I suggest you watch one of my favorite videos from the Deaf Professional Arts Network (also referred to as the Deaf Performing Artists Network) -

I've been inspired by the amazing Just Peachy, who does great DIY posts.
A few days ago, I was going through my palettes (which I don't use nearly often enough, except for the Too Faced Smokey one) and realized that one of them had a broken eyeshadow. It had been that way for some time, and had gotten pushed to the bottom of the palette stack despite it being a great little palette. I remembered seeing various people re-press broken pressed products, so I decided to give it a shot.
I started by gathering up all the little pieces of broken shadow that were floating around inside the palette and placed them back in the eyeshadow pan.

Next I used one of my metal spoons from TKB to scoop out all the eyeshadow and put it in a clean 3 gram jar I had on hand.

I decided it would probably be easiest to work with the pan not in the palette, so I removed the now empty eyeshadow pan. I simply placed it face down on my counter and heated up the back with a hair dryer until I was able to pry the pan out. I used a safety pin to pry it out. It was actually much easier than I expected.

Next I added some isopropyl alcohol to the powder, just adding a little bit at a time until I had a fairly uniform, thick paste. I initially tried to use my metal spoon to mix it, but then opted for a new cocktail stirring stick instead.

Then I transferred the paste to the pan, using my cocktail stirrer. I tried to squish it in the pan in a fairly uniform, flat way. I really enjoyed the squishing part of this project and probably spent more time than I needed to squishing the eyeshadow into the pan.

I let it sit and dry for a few hours until it seemed dry to the touch. I then placed a tissue on top of it and gently pressed the shadow with my fingers, continuing this until isopropyl alcohol no longer surfaced on the tissue.

I then let it dry overnight, and it seems to be good as new! I was surprised by how simple the process was, and quite pleased that I now know how to re-press my broken pressed powder products. I found it to be a fun process, and was almost a little disappointed that I didn't have anything else I needed to re-squish.
I have an eyeshadow drying from a rescue mission and a new Perversion eyeliner pencil. This week is looking okay, though I took a bad fall yesterday on the ice. Ouch. Trying to take it easy tonight because moving around hurts. I depotted an eyeshadow pan from a palette to re-press it, and now I want to depot everything! But I need to lay off of the new projects until my thesis and recital are finished...
I'll let you know how my eyeshadow rescue mission turns out, I've never tried to press or re-press anything before!
This week you can expect to see a post on Urban Decay's Perversion and my eyeshadow pressing and depotting, so stay tuned.
Now to go list some textbooks on half.com - I really need to start clearing out things I don't want/need to move 1,400 miles in June.
Any tips for minimizing unnecessary possessions?Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02739507155428208798noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802239278941193125.post-9629461013352730872012-01-12T14:54:00.000-07:002012-01-12T14:54:54.244-07:00Too Faced Smokey Eye Shadow Collection swatchesMy go-to palette these days has been the Too Faced Smokey Eye Shadow Collection palette. I haven't had the time or energy to put a lot of thought into my makeup, so it's been great to just grab this palette instead of staring at my collection of indie shadows in the morning. 5 months from now, I'll be able to let out a huge sigh of relief as I will be finished with my thesis (Only 5 months?!?! I have so much to do!!!) and will have my bachelor's degree finished. But right now, mindless makeup is the name of the game.

For $36, you receive nine shadows housed in a travel-friendly palette.

The shadows are categorized into three looks: Day, Classic, and Night. I like that they're set up this way because it makes it easier for me to mindlessly create a pretty look. Obviously, you can also mix and match shades from the three categories.

I'm quite impressed by the formula of these shadows- they're smooth and pigmented even without the use of primer. Though I always use primer on my eyes when I wear these, I've swatched them dry, without primer to show you what I'm talking about. The matte shades (particularly Smolder) aren't quite as smooth, but that's matte for you.

No primer, natural light:
Impressed yet? I have more swatches for you either way...
Yay! I'm glad that this "spring" release will be here soon. Sorry I don't have any pictures or swatches of it for you yet, but I'll be picking it up and reviewing it soon!

And so this post isn't naked/photo-less, how pretty is Lola from Brazen Cosmetics?!
Sorry for being a bad blogger, I'm working on getting over a stomach virus and have started doing classes and research at a local(ish) school for the deaf.
I just heard some exciting news, and figured I would share it with you all! According to Temptalia (http://www.temptalia.com/), the Urban Decay spring launches will include the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion! Perversion will become a permanent shade. I was thrilled to hear this, as I had swatched a mini Perversion liner in Sephora about a week ago from this travel set (Electric):

image from here

I loved how rich and dark Perversion swatched- much blacker than Oil Slick or Zero from Urban Decay. However, since I didn't feel like the other shades in the set were ones that I needed to add to my current arsenal, I passed on the set. However, I was hoping that Urban Decay would release Perversion on its own. I'll definitely be picking one up once they're released! I'm not sure exactly when it's supposed to be released, but I'll keep you posted.

Is anybody else excited about this?
Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02739507155428208798noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802239278941193125.post-46662625343281330212011-12-31T18:11:00.000-07:002011-12-31T18:11:46.153-07:00Reflections and Body ImageAnd what a year it's been. I can't believe how quickly it has flown by. I'm not usually one for new year resolutions, but I'm going to focus on one for the coming year, as it's something that I have been thinking about lately.
I'm going to work on having a healthier body image.
As some of you may now, I was a very serious ballet dancer for much of my life, until I blew out both knees and redirected my focus to music and college. Because I had been training from the age of six, I never really knew my body in anything less than an extremely fit condition. Combined with the fact that I'm naturally petite, I never had much body fat and was quite toned. Now, about five years after I had to stop training for a professional level of ballet, my body has certainly changed. I went from dancing nearly every day of the week and eating wonderfully healthy meals to focusing on my degree and eating whatever's convenient. And when I look in the mirror, I have mixed feelings.
On one hand, I firmly believe that my overall weight now is healthier than it was when I was dancing. I've easily gained 15-20 pounds over the past 4-5 years. Hey- now I even weigh enough to sit in a seat with an airbag! (Which certainly wasn't the case when I started driving.) However, there are certain areas that could definitely use some toning. Actually, all of me could use some toning. I haven't stuck to an exercise regimen since I left dance, and it's time for me to start exercising regularly again. And in all honesty, I'm more or less disgusted by some of my newfound flab. I've been too hard on my reflection these days, comparing my body now to the body I had when I was dancing constantly. And there's just no way I should expect my body to magically stay fit. It's just never something I had to think about before. I was so committed to dance, and a result of my serious training was a very muscular, toned, fit body. And I never really thought of it as exercise, or that my body looked that way as a result of blood, sweat, and tears. Literally.

(A few of my retired pointe shoes)

I'm going to work on feeling better. And my plan is to tackle this through exercise and reasonable expectations. I need to keep reminding myself that I'm not a disgusting slob just because I have some more curves these days. And the funny thing is, I know I'm still smaller than many people, and when I look around at others, I certainly don't hold them to the harsh standards I have for myself. So I hope that in no way does any of this come across as insulting to those with different body types.
I've enrolled in yoga for the spring, and am planning on starting to swim regularly and maybe even enroll in an adult ballet class. I miss ballet so much. My goal is not to lose weight, but instead to feel healthier both physically and mentally. I would like to gain back some more muscle and tone some things, but I need to remember to be nice to myself in the process. Some days, when I look in the mirror it makes me want to go on some ridiculous celery diet. And that is going to change. I'm going to exercise regularly and accept that my body is the way it is right now. With regular exercise, it'll change eventually.
But in the meantime I need to be more accepting of myself, something I feel many of us struggle with.

Here's to a healthier and happier new year!
The Annie Collection review and swatchesI bought the Eye Gotta! The Annie Collection by Benefit from Sephora some time ago with my Beauty Insider gift card. I had seen swatches of it, and was lusting after the cream shadows in the set. Since I only had one mini cream shadow in my stash at that point, I decided to indulge. Right now it's on sale at Sephora here for $24, but you can get another %20 off until January 3 if you use the code EXTRA at checkout online.
The packaging isn't particularly sturdy, and mine is starting to get a bit beaten up from bouncing around in my makeup bag. But if it gets damaged, I think it would be easy to just relocate the pressed shadows into a freestyle magnetic palette. I always like it when my makeup products have a mirror built in, since it's helpful for travel.
The set comes with two cream eyeshadows and what Benefit calls a "3 in 1 eyeshadow", which is three shades pressed into one pan. So you're getting five different shades overall with this set. The cream shadows are minis, they're 0.11 oz versus Benefit's full size cream shadows which are 0.16 oz. Benefit calls the cream shadows "Creaseless Cream Shadows". I find that these will crease a bit by the end of the day if you don't use a primer. Even so, they hold up pretty well without a primer. The two shades in this set are Flash and Foiled.

Swatch Time! No primer.
Foiled is on the left, first swatched sheerly (one swipe, then blended) then more opaquely (about three swipes).
Flash is on the right, same drill.
I am crazy about these. They're so creamy and lovely and I love the shades. I like that they can just provide a wash of shimmer or can be built up. I think they're very versatile. Once again, I suggest using a primer. I like that they can be used alone or as a base for other shadows.
Aaannnnddd the pressed shadows now. Without a primer, the pigmentation is pretty weak.
With primer, it's definitely better, though the plummy shade requires some work to get it to show up. I wasn't entirely wowed by the formula on these.
The shadows behave better over the cream shadows from the set, it gives them some more oomph. (Flash on the top, Foiled on the bottom)
Overall, I like this set. The pressed shadows didn't wow me, but I really purchased it for the cream shadows. I'm definitely a fan of the cream shadows.
I'd been avoiding it because my usual hair stylist moved, and I'm always a bit apprehensive when it comes to letting someone new try to tame my curly mess of hair.

Pre-haircut, my mane in all its untamed glory:

I've been trying to grow my bangs out, so they had gotten to that awkward in between length. The number of bobby pins I'd been using to try to keep them at bay was pretty absurd.

After! No idea why I'm so washed out here.

I liked the looks of this one, especially since it has an automatic safety shut off after 1 hour.

Here are some other things that I like:

The on/off switch. Seriously, I like it. My last curling iron had on/off buttons located in a place where I was always accidentally and unknowingly turning the thing off while using it. And then I would wonder why it wasn't really curling my hair, until I realized that I had turned it off. Brilliant, I know. But it makes me appreciate this switch.

"How do I know when it's ready?" This light blinks when the curling iron has heated up.

I really like this curling iron. I'm glad I didn't look at the reviews on the Sally Beauty website before I bought it. There are currently two reviews on the site, both of which rate it as being a terrible product. Both reviewers on the site mentioned not liking the rotating tip. In all honesty, I haven't bothered holding it from the tip, so it could very well be terrible and I just don't know it. One of the reviewers mentioned that it burned their hair, which I haven't had an issue with. Obviously, if you put it on a high setting and leave it in your hair for a while, you're at risk of burning your hair. But it hasn't been an issue for me.

I'm happy with my curling iron and my haircut! I also like the haircut when I let my hair run wild and free, but I don't have any pictures yet.

This is pretty much my go-to "I just want to brighten up my eyes" look. I used the two cream shadows from the Benefit Eye Gotta! The Annie Collection (which I will swatch in its entirety later). I applied Flash on the entire lid and Foiled on the outer corners. The mascara is Maybelline Lots of Lashes. I think it's a nice, simple and natural look.
Amandahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02739507155428208798noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8802239278941193125.post-23121809688002432822011-12-26T13:12:00.000-07:002011-12-26T13:12:05.600-07:00Monday Musings Vol. 7Hello, all!
Sorry for being a bad blogger and MIA for the past week, I got a bit caught up in the craziness of the holidays and visiting with family and friends. But now I'm back with so many things to show you! The backlog of photos in my computer is getting to be quite impressive. I happily spent the majority of yesterday indulging in a Buffy the Vampire Slayer marathon with my sister, which we continued until 2AM. But now it's back to the grind, I have a lot of thesis work to do, as well as preparing for my senior recital. I took the past week off, except for a bit of thesis research.
Now that the holiday gift-giving has passed, I can reveal one of my recent secret (or not so secret anymore) projects!
It's definitely been one of those 'learn as you go' experiences/experiments, with a few minor mishaps. For example, peppermint oil is STRONG and will make your entire apartment smell strongly of peppermint if you're not careful. Just Peachy's lipgloss series, which can be found here along with her other awesome DIY posts, was definitely an inspiration and a large part of why I decided to give making lipgloss a shot.
